Straw Man: A logical fallacy

"Those Catholics are completely out of their minds. They try to follow and live a faith/religion that's centuries old. At least my views are only a few decades old." Listen, the world will always change, either for better or for worse. Right now (in many ways) it is changing for the worse. Therefore, why would anyone in his or her right mind change with the world? Take this for instance: In the year 2069, the United States has become a socialist/communist society. You are only allowed to have two children in your family. Any excess forms of life will be liquidated. Religion is no longer allowed for "safety" reasons. Human beings are regularly cloned and used for "spare parts" and other inhuman things. Promiscuous activity is promoted, the culture of death is promoted, and life is no longer taken seriously.
Sounds seriously perverted, eh? Well, if you grew up with the values and understandings of today, you would realize the insanity of it all and shun it. Just because your ideas on life are "antique," do not mean they aren't relevant.
