BATMAN BEGINS:

HOME

I recently saw Batman Begins with Ivan. I’m speechless. It is THE most freaking awesome movie EVER CREATED!!! Unlike other superhero movies, this one doesn’t feature clunky, cartoony misfits fighting unbelievable enemies. This is probably THE darkest comic-based movie ever created. Christian Bale gives an excellent performance as a traumatized young man who seeks to restore crime-ridden Gotham to its former glory.

The movie begins with Bruce Wayne in some prison in Asia mud wrestling with 7 other guys, which is fine if you’re into that kind of stuff. A bit later, he is introduced to Liam Nelson. Liam trains him in the art of the ninja.

I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll continue.

The Positives:

The acting was phenomenal. Christian Bale really brings life to Batman in this movie. Unlike X-Men, this movie actually had believable elements to it (I’m not saying a guy who dresses up as a bat and fights crime is believable, I’m just saying it’s more believable than most superhero movies). The special effects were flawless – and that’s saying a lot. Do I really have to mention the “tumbler?” It is THE coolest vehicle to ever appear in a Batman movie. It appears to be a cross between a tank and a hummer. How bad is that?

In a matter of fact, I think this movie surpasses some of the best movies ever made (in my opinion): Airplane 2, Lord of the Rings ROTK, and Star wars Episode 3.

Negatives:

Even the most creative and revolutionary movies have their flaws. Batman is no different. First off, Batman was just too stinkin’ stiff. Every one of his moves looked jerky and ungraceful. But that’s okay, he’s Batman. He can get away with anything. Secondly, there weren’t any rappers. Every movie should feature a rapper in it. I don’t know why, they just do.

Throughout this movie, Bruce Wayne swore to defeat evil and eradicate corruption. What? How dare he impose his perception of “good” on other people. Not everyone’s views are limited to his narrow dogmatic concept of right and wrong. Jeez, some people (incase you’re stupid, I was being sarcastic).

But seriously, was Batman all that good? If my calculations are correct, he caused around 12 million dollars in property damage and made countless families homeless with his tank. But I guess that’s alright if you’re fighting for a greater good…I dunno…

Anyway, go check this movie out. It’s great. WARNING: this movie does contain some pretty intense violence and some scary images. Not for lil’ kids.
